For over 10 years TFS Horse Transport has been providing quality horse transit NZ wide. We service both the North and South Islands, operating from our depots in Morrinsville, Foxton, Blenheim and Christchurch
Our staff are very experienced in the transport of horses, and the care involved for racehorses, mares with foals, pony club transport and sport horses (really, any horse).
Whether they be miniatures or stallions or anything in between, we can safely house all horses safely at our facilities.
Our aim is to provide consistent, exceptional care, nationwide.
Our Trucks
We are operating a brand new fleet of Scania trucks with angle spaces and maintain them to exceptionally high standards.
The vehicles are fitted with modern comms to enable communication between drivers, depots and management. Live GPS tracking is in place so we know where your horse is at all times.
All of our Scanias have internal cameras, helping the drivers awareness of how your horse is travelling for the duration of their journey – as well as fans.
For journeys that involve stops, your horse will be cared for at one of our depots in Morrinsville, Foxton, Blenheim or Christchurch. There they are provided with their own yard or stable and given access to fresh water and hay as part of the cost of the journey.
Should your horse be required to stay longer than one night, our team continues the same full level of care until they are delivered to their destination.
Sample Journey
timaru – cambridge
Day 1
Your horse will be collected from your property and taken to our depot where they will receive full care, fed and watered for the night.
Day 2
Often a 6am start, The day starts with your horse loaded onto the truck for it’s northward journey. We cross to the North Island by Ferry (included) and continue to Foxton where they are cared for at our Foxton depot overnight.
Day 3
Again an early morning feed and water before re-loading and continuing to Cambridge. Depending on your location, we deliver this day or our Morrinsville location can care for your horse before delivering over the following days.
Sample Journey 2
Waikato – CANTERBURY (AND SOUTH)
Monday
Your horse will be collected from your property in Auckland or Waikato and taken to our depot in Morrinsville where they will receive full care, fed and watered for the night.
Tuesday
The day starts with your horse loaded onto the truck for it’s southward journey to Foxton, arriving before 2pm, where they are cared for at our depot overnight.
Wednesday
Overnight start to reach the 2am ferry crossing to Picton – We continue south to arrive in Canterbury area in the afternoon.
Thursday
Travel further south (anywhere).
